CheckingAhead is a personal finance app that runs entirely on your device. This page explains, plainly, what that means for your data.

What we collect

Nothing. CheckingAhead does not collect, transmit, or have any way to access any information about you or your device. There is no server. There is no account to create. There is no analytics or crash-reporting service built into the app.

Where your data lives

All information you enter — accounts, transactions, bills, debts, budget buckets, and settings — is stored in a local database on your device only. It is never uploaded, synced, or shared with us or with any third party. If you use the app on more than one device, each device keeps its own separate, independent data; the app does not connect them.

Uninstalling the app deletes this data. We have no copy of it and cannot recover it for you.

Feedback feature

The app includes an optional "Send Feedback" button. Tapping it opens your device's own email app with a pre-filled draft addressed to us, including your device's app version and operating system so we can troubleshoot. CheckingAhead does not send this itself — nothing is transmitted unless you review the draft in your mail app and choose to send it yourself.

Third-party services

CheckingAhead does not integrate with any bank, payment processor, advertising network, or analytics provider.

Permissions

CheckingAhead does not request access to your contacts, location, camera, microphone, or files.

Notifications (optional) — if you turn on Bill Reminders in Settings, the app schedules local reminders on your device using the notification permission. These reminders are generated and delivered entirely on-device.
Biometrics (optional) — if you enable fingerprint/Face ID login, your device's own operating system handles the biometric check. CheckingAhead never sees or stores your biometric data.
It also uses your mail app for the optional feedback feature above, and your device's file picker/share sheet for the optional local backup and restore feature — both stay entirely on-device or go only where you personally direct them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same location with a new "last updated" date.
